An Insider’s Peak at the “Ultimate Internet Boot Camp”
Review: Peak Potential’s “Ultimate Internet Boot Camp,” (UIBC) December 5th – 10th, 2010, Los Angeles, CA
UIBC is a five day intense training course that not only teaches how to create a profitable WordPress website from scratch, but also teaches you the marketing skills to promote your website and create an income stream that will bring you revenue for years to come. You don’t have to trade hours for dollars anymore! What a concept!
Imagine, 300 people in a room, each with their own unique background and skill set, armed with a notebook computer and an internet connection, ready to embark on a journey that will lead them down the path to build their own money earning website from scratch in five days. And the Peak Potential’s team delivers!
I was impressed by the way the event was organized and structured, so that even though we were in front of a computer screen for about 12 hours a day, I was totally engaged the entire time. The sessions were interspersed with timely stretching, high-fiving, hilarious games, music and dancing. They also gave us permission to howl like a wolf whenever we felt like it. After a couple of days, it seemed perfectly normal. I took 35 pages of hand-written notes in addition to the numerous handouts that they provided.
Their presenters were both entertaining and knowledgeable with excellent credentials. Andrew Lock, the lead presenter for the seminar, was a real joy. His British humor reminded me of Monty Python. Eric Lingenfelter also did an excellent job presenting his sections as did Chris Farrell. T. Harv Eker, author of the best selling book, “Secrets of a Millionaire Mind”, was also highly motivating. All of their presenters were first-rate.
Also note that Alex Mandossian, who is usually one of the lead presenters, and a very good one, was absent due to his daughter’s illness. I’m happy to report that it appears she has made a complete recovery from a very serious illness. Alex still taught some of his sections of the course from a DVD recording of a previous seminar, and amazingly, the attendees responded to him as if he was standing right there. That’s charisma!
Prior to the beginning of the seminar, there is a pre-training program which is very good at preparing attendees to hit the ground running on day one. The pre-training includes registering a domain name, determining your passion, explaining what to bring to the event and setting up various accounts such as PayPal.
Day One
The first day, we spent some time determining our monetizable niche. We went through a self-evaluation process and asked ourselves, “What am I truly passionate about?” We also evaluated our strengths, skills, natural talents, personal interests and how to overcome our own personal obstacles to success. Once we defined the subject closest to our heart, we began to learn a formula that would allow us to earn money from it.
In the beginning, in order to help get everyone on the same page, we learned a lot of basic concepts, like how to open a new tab in Firefox.
We quickly progressed to learning how to navigate the WordPress platform, setting up pages and using the Google keyword tool to research keywords in order to attract buyers. We also became acquainted with “Ezine Articles”.
Day Two
On the second day, I learned a great principle, “sloppy success is better than perfect mediocrity”. Stated another way, “progress over perfection” and yet another way, “be prolific, not perfect”. This was tough for a perfectionist like me, but personally one of my biggest take-aways from the entire seminar.
We created a digital product from scratch and learned how to sell it on our new web site that we were creating. Digital products, like e-books, are great because they don’t require carrying a physical inventory.
Day Three
On the third day, we learned how to use Twitter effectively, as well as create and actively promote a Facebook fan page. We also learned how to set up iContact and an opt-in page.
Did you know that through Amazon’s affiliate program, you can sell anything that’s on their site? You earn a commission from each sale and don’t even have to carry an inventory!
In the afternoon session, they broke us down into teams of ten and introduced the big contest. Whichever team could sell the most $1 items from their new website would become the winner. The contest ran until mid-day Friday.
Day Four
Do you know how to create an online video in five minutes? I do now! I also found out I was a real stiff in front of the camera. If it wasn’t for Blake Jusilla, the kind chap that interviewed me, it would have been a total disaster. But as they said, every master was once a disaster!
They also showed us how to encourage word-of-mouth advertising, uncover and leverage the busiest blogs in our niche and publish our own YouTube channel.
Did you know that youTube is now the second largest search engine behind Google? Now that Google owns them, it makes perfect sense.
There was also a “live” tele-conference with Ezine Articles founder and CEO, Chris Knight. Chris explained that they are an 11-year overnight success story. He also talked about how to get the most out of your free membership.
Day Five
One of the goals of the seminar was to provide attendees with the tools to earn $100K in an hour a day. By day five, we were well on our way….to learning the tools.
Remember the contest from Day Three? The team that earned the most dollars with their new web site, was announced. The group I was in didn’t win, but we had one guy that sold 82 items, at $1 apiece. That’s pretty good! The point is, all the principles we learned to sell this $1 item can be replicated selling higher priced items.
Note that this is not a get rich quick scheme. If you apply the lessons learned in the seminar over time, with effort and consistency, little by little, day by day, you will achieve real quantifiable results.
Towards the end of day five, the seminar closed with Peak Potentials promoting their other seminars and various package deals.
I am not accustomed to spending large sums of money on seminars, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of information they packed into this course.
On the negative side, I felt that their hosting packages were a little overpriced, $25 a month for one site, $50 a month for up to five sites. It costs an additional $20/month for your iContact account and $20/month for help desk support. Help desk support is free if you are enrolled in their continuing education.
There are several advantages to keeping your site hosted by UIBC, like staying in contact and getting support from other seminar attendees, affectionately known as the “wolf pack”. Also, it’s not a simple task to transfer a WordPress site to another hosting company. It involves backing up both the content files and database file.
The other knocks I have on the UIBC hosting package, center around the issue of “website control”. WordPress theme selection is limited. Also, UIBC doesn’t allow ftp access to your site, access to the style sheet or the ability to upload additional plug-ins, other than the ones they provide. For advanced users, this can be frustrating. But, I can understand the logic behind it. If you have 300 people accidentally screwing up their websites by misconfiguring their style sheets, the cost to run the help desk would go up dramatically.
Still, the benefits of attending the seminar, greatly outweigh the negatives. In my opinion, the online marketing principles alone make the seminar worth the money.
If I was asked to sum up the Ultimate Internet Boot Camp in one phrase I would say, “it’s a life changer.” It was like attending the best motivational seminar you could ever attend, injecting it with technically enriched content and topping it off with online marketing tips worth their weight in gold. OK, I guess a tip doesn’t weigh that much. But, you get the point.
In this review, my intent was to provide an in-depth, insider’s look at Peak Potential’s “Ultimate Internet Boot Camp.” I have given my honest opinion, the reason’s why I think this boot camp is well worth the money, and outlined some areas where I think they need to improve. And, knowing the quality of the personnel at the helm of Peak’s, the Ultimate Internet Boot Camp seminar will just get better and better.
If you have found that this information was helpful to you and you would now like to sign up for the Ultimate Internet Boot Camp seminar, you can do so by clicking on this link: Ultimate Internet Boot Camp Seminar Sign-up. I have been a full-time graphic and web designer for over ten years and attended their seminar in December, 2010. This review is my opinion, written from that perspective.

Very good and detailed information. What is the cost of the 5 day program?
I paid $4,000. The cost varies depending on if you have one of their package deals or are part of their continuing education program. From what I’m told, their other seminar’s like the “Millionaire Mind Intensive” are also excellent, although I cannot speak from personal experience.
It has been four months since I attended and I have already earned back the cost of admission by gaining clients for my graphic design business that I would not have had and through employing their website monetization methodologies.
Hi Steve,
Good article, thanks.
Just a small correction for your records, I attended this event in Dec 2010 but the venue was Orlando, FL!
Putting that aside though, this was exactly my experience and I enjoyed it so much I signed for the next level programme and will be attending the UIBC 2 event.
I too have built websites and have my own hosting services where I could easily manage WordPress sites from but I think the UIBC dashboard is rich enough for the newbie too.
Thanks again, Ben
Sorry, you’re right with the venue, I attended the one a week later in Orlando
Yes they held the seminar two weeks in a row in December, one in LA, the other n Orlando. Thank you for your positive commentary Ben!
Am watching T. HARV promoting this program right now in London!
We all know how he sells, so I thought I should check out the reviews.
Yes, he’s an excellent sales person, no question. Being exposed to his online marketing techniques was a huge benefit of the seminar.
Hi Steve, I have just purchased the program for $4000 after attending the MMI intensive weekend, and am unsure if I want to cancel or not. I don’t have a product right off the bat and am worried that it will take a very long time to get my money back from the course. I don’t want to spend the majority of my time on a website, and am concerned that is what it will take up front in order to achieve the “$100k a year in 1 hour a day”. Would love your feedback.
Hi Emma – Thank you for your post. I hear what you’re saying; $4,000 is a lot of cash. And you’re right, it will take some time and a lot of work to earn back your initial investment. I knew going into the course that my product would be similar to what I’m already doing, selling web design services. But the course really opened my eyes to all the possibilities of how to sell those services, through e-books, webinars, etc. A lot of ways I hadn’t thought of, that I am just now beginning to employ.
For you, I think it’s important to identify your product or service. What is it that is really close to your heart? What do you love to do? The next question, is it a monetizable niche? Are there other people truly interested in the same things as you are, and would they be willing to pay for information that will benefit them in some way. If you’ve paid already, you should have access to the UIBC pre-training guides. The first one you should review is “Turning your Passions into Profits”. I really think this will help you decide if you should go through with it or not.
For me, it was a very positive experience and I know that I use the skills and principles taught in this course to further what I love to do…teach and be creative!
Thank you so much for your input and speedy reply. I haven’t been given access to any pre-training guides that I know of and am having a hard time getting any answers or anyone on the phone to ask my questions to. Do you know of the website where the pre-training guides are located?
You’re welcome. I’ll see if I still have the links they gave me.
Hi.
In regards to what you said in the above comment:
“If you’ve paid already, you should have access to the UIBC pre-training guides. The first one you should review is “Turning your Passions into Profits”. ”
I live in norway and have paid to attend the internet bootcamp course in london july 2011.
I would be interested in having access to the pre–training guides. how do i get into this?
thanks (tusen takk)
Hi Larry, I spoke with Beth Neibert, a UIBC coach, and she says the pre-training information will be emailed to you automatically, three weeks before the event. I have forwarded your email onto her to let them know there is some interest in receiving the materials early.
Hi Steve, Thanks for your quick responce and for your time and effort. Look forward to the link.
as long as i have your attention, do you mind me asking about my interest. I am the author of a selfpublished novel, “Caught in the Winds”. I am completely unknown, an Americn living in Norway, a long way from my American market. My hope is to learn internet marketing techniques to break out of the slush pile of selfpublished books and reach my reading public. My novel is not the action thriller type but a reflective, portrayal of a college guy struggling with his religious identity. He is a philosophy major as well. Thus my market (genre) may not exist and I must create it. (I recently attended the Mission for Millions course in Amsterdam and got a lot of that and know that the themes in my book are also part of my “mission” so these will also be part of my marketing project and my book is kind of a show piece for a bigger project that remains to be discovered.) Well I have already written too much, but my question is for your personal opinion: Do you think this course is well suited for what what i want??
(if you care to read a further discription of my novel and a really cool video book trailer, go to my website at http://www.ldwenzel.com)
If you care to respond, i would appreciate it. Otherwise i will be looking forward to your email about preparing for the boot camp. In the mean time I will look through your website and see if there are other things that interest me.
Hi Steve,
I’m going in july to the bootcamp in London, I was very interesting to read your thing, so i have a idea what to aspect. Till this moment we didn,t get extra information.
You have done the course, are there parts, were would you see, If I have know that on forehand I would have had a look in too that, as example look into wordpress on forehand?
Could you give me some tips? Just that I will not be totally overwelmd.
Thank you in advance.
Kins regards
Anja
Yes, I would recommend doing all the pre-training that they will send you three weeks before the event. Before that time, it would be great if you could familiarize yourself with WordPress as much as possible. In our area, local WordPress experts offer free beginning seminars. You might check into the availability of free seminars in your area.
Being familiar with WordPress will help you to get more out of the UIBC seminar, and allow you to focus on the online marketing tools that they will expose you to. Thanks for writing Anja. Enjoy the Boot Camp!
Thanks for your really quick response.
I’m from the Netherlands, and I will have a look for free seminars, because till now I have no experience in WordPress.
What I also understand that we need to choose a domain name etc etc, Lucky enough I have some experience with looking in to keywords, and in working with google analytics.
Can I already choose a domain name en arrange the hosting already, to try wordpress, and than use the same domain name and hosting on the UIBC, or is it advaisable to wait till the UIBC and use there hosting, despate the higher costs?
I already know that I will enjoy the bootcamp, and I want to take the mutch out of it as possible also because the big investing costs.
Your report and website give me the feeling that a lot is possible, I’m very interesting in using affliate marketing because till now I not have a own product.
Thanks again
Anja
Steve, great review! Thanks for your honesty! Would you tell us more about what continual support/further courses available after the program? And what is the cost?
The reason I’m asking is I’m wondering what system Harv offers to measure your own success. Like how do you know if 6 months into your blogging/Internet marketing you are doing well, or you are missing something. Is there a timeline or a check-system to see your own progress?
Perhaps something like this was offered in the bootcamp itself? Or is that part of an other program. Just wondering. (c;
Thanks for any insights!
They offer several methods of continuing support. The day after you complete the course you have a 21-Day Challenge that you are encouraged to participate in. Each day you have a new task based on what you’ve already learned in the course. This gets you in the habit of driving traffic to your site on a daily basis.
For about $20/month they have a support program where you can call a UIBC coach to help guide you through topics where you may need extra help.
They also have a Help Desk, for website technical questions.
Regarding measuring your success, the goal is to earn $250/day with your site. They ask you to contact them the first day you’ve made $250.
I forgot to mention…they now offer a UIBC 2.0 course, a more advanced version of the first one. They are launching that this week in Las Vegas.
Could you tell me how they send the pre-training stuff? Is it like through an email, or do they send something in the mail, etc?
You should receive an email with links to the pre-training. If you haven’t received the email three weeks prior to training, give them a call. It’s an automated system, so if your email address was entered into their system correctly, you should receive it just fine.
Hello,
My name is Ruwan and thank you for the content provided on your website.
I had a question which is similar to that of Anja:
They are going to up-sell you a package in respects of hosting package and support cost.
Is it possible to set-up a domain name by yourself? I’m familiar with setting-up a domain name.
Is it also possible to have your own hosting package? The hosting package I saw, offers a step by step installation of word press.
What is your opinion on that?
Thank you in advance
You can set up a domain and hosting by yourself, but I wouldn’t recommend it until after the UIBC training. The reason is that they add customized plugins into your WordPress dashboard that are necessary for your UIBC training seminar.
Their hosting costs are a little more expensive than normal, plus there are ongoing fees for iContact. Training is optional. However, there are some advantages to keeping your site hosted there. Some of the plugins that are included in your dashboard are time-consuming to replicate. Another advantage is that they have a plugin that allows you to stay in contact with other seminar attendees. This is very helpful for networking. Also, it is not a simple task to move a WordPress website because both the website content and database need to be moved. Often database connections get broken during this process and you have a website that doesn’t look or function as it should.
The good news is once you learn the techniques and principles in their course, you can take that knowledge and build a site outside of UIBC.
Thank you for your questions Ruwan. I hope that helps.
PS…in the next few days I will be offering a step-by-step guide “How to Build Your Own WordPress Website”, in case you want to learn some of the basics ahead of time. It will be initially priced at about $20. When it’s ready, I will promote it on the home page of this website.
Steve,
Thank you for your time answering this question. It is really helpful.
If I may ask you, do you also have other websites you own? I read you review and I also learning the information they provided as a pre-training. They are talking about finding your niche in area of passion. I wonder if your intention was to go to the UIBC for setting up a nice or several niches.
Really looking forward to your opinion.
Kind Regards
Ruwan Claessen
My intention was to set up one niche around my passion for graphic and web design. But after attending the seminar, it truly opened my eyes to the possibilities. I found that I had several areas of interest that I would like to build sites for. Being a native of Seattle, I discovered I’m an expert on Seattle and what we call the “Great Pacific Northwest! So, I’m in the process of developing this site: http://gr8nw.com/
My wife’s an excellent cook so we will have a site where she can share some of her favorite recipes. I also have a passion for photography.
My original html site that I built prior to UIBC is: http://www.stevepillitugraphicdesign.com
Thank you again for asking!
I attended Uibc in London recently and to be honest it’s not worth the £4000. Theres lots better online tuition for a fraction of the cost. Out of the 5 days we only opened our lap tops for 3 days. And been really honest half the things you was supposed to learn was already integrated in the site, then they got you to celebrate like you had done it all. Don’t get me wrong they are good motivators but people are attending for web tuition. Then comes the up sell when your told the coarse you have just done is not really that good compared to Uibc 2.0 for another £6000. When that’s done probably they will be a Uibc 3.0. For me the ultimate really isn’t ultimate. Very basic website templates, and no ability to add plugins to make it look better etc. I remember mmi under quoting promise over deliver that’s clearly not said with integrity. And I would love to meet anyone who as made 100k a year because there was no testimonials just another false promise!
I would say save your money and stay clear, well clear! Instead try Chris Farrell membership it really is a million times better, offered with integrity and all for only £29 per month! I learned more in 1 day than I did at the 5 day ibc whoops I forgot the ultimate
Hey Roger. I appreciate your honest opinion of the event. I agree with some of what you said, especially regarding website templates and lack of ability to add plugins. Also, it is a basic program, in that it’s geared towards people that have little or no web design experience. However, I felt that the online marketing tools they presented were a real eye-opener and that’s where I think the true value in the program lies. I also thought they were great motivators. I earned back the $4,000 price of admission in the first couple of months after the event and I’m still implementing their strategies. Again, thank you for your comments and I respect your opinion.
I have a ticket available to this course that I can’t attend due to being out of the country. I’m willing to sell it at a loss for $3500 obo. If interested, zip me an email at web-tree@sneakemail.com
WHOA – come guys – DON’T give these people your money!!!!!! They’re all intelligent scams. $4,000! sheesh! put it towards a property. I can tell you that you can be a success, for free! sure you can do it, but these guys play on your hope, build it up and feast of your desperation! wake up all! These guys can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.
YOU DON’T NEED THESE GUYS TO BE A SUCCESS!
I viewed my experience differently, but I respect your opinion.
